Feedmysearch needs your opinion, help and advice
October 25th, 2009 · No Comments
Dear feedmysearch user,
Feedmysearch would require some serious server upgrade and a bit of development to be back online.
However it seems hard to monetize and without monetisation, no future !
You ‘re welcome to express any opinion, advice, partnership proposal ! And feel free to forward it to whoever you think might have a say. Thanks
Here are further explainations regarding the situation.
Who are feedmysearch users ?
They are like you.
Techies, recruiters, web professionals, people wanting to monitor search results, who like to save their time, who wish rss could be on anything.
How much traffic does the site generates ?
Feedmysearch has been featured on lifehacker and many other sites across the globe on july 09. So far no other communication has been made.

If we had more money for the project we could come up with a much more active communication as well as enhancements on a regular basis. We could for example launch some killer features like graphical monitoring the evolution of a search result…
Why haven’t you managed to monetize it ?
More than once we got people asking us to sell them premium accesses.
We even dream about it some nights.
But the service relies on Google ajax seach result api, which says clearly in its TOS :
1.4 ….The implementation of the Service on your Property must be generally accessible to users without charge and must not require a fee-based subscription or other fee-based restricted access…
And what about feedvertising ?
Well, a few month ago we’ve been rejected from a few places.
But now we will eventualy try again. Any name to drop ?
Why not more effort into this project ?
Currently, we wish we had an extra 750$/month to put in feedmysearch hosting, and a team of 3 people to developp it fulltime. But guess what,we don’t.
Feedmysearch is a side project in a small company with limited ressources, already developping other promising websites. (see eurekabridge.com for references.)
didn’t you get partnerships proposal ?
Only casinos…
To get interresting proposals, we believe a site like feedmysearch needs to speak out loud.
Anything to propose ? david@feedmysearch.com
Thanks for reading and now, what do you think ?
